Root Canal Therapy
In situations where the nerve chamber of a tooth is inflamed or infected, a Rootcanal treatment might need to be performed to disinfect this chamber and remove the damaged material as an attempt to save this damaged tooth. This is often the “last resort” for a damaged tooth before we consider removal.
Only in a small percentage of cases this can be an uncomfortable procedure, but if picked up early enough and treated correctly, this can be avoided and in 98% of cases a Rootcanal treatment can give your tooth a second chance for another 10 years (according to the latest studies). The success rate of retreating an old Rootcanal treated tooth comes down to about 75% but is sometimes necessary.
At Orange Moose Dental we make use of rotary instruments to make this treatment more effective from a clinical and time perspective.
